Macau-wide zero-domestic violence activities kicked off last week

The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) and the Women’s General Association of Macau recently co-organized the launch ceremony of “2023 Zero-violence – Domestic Violence Prevention Series Activities”, aiming to promote the values of gender equality in society and to raise awareness about the importance of preventing and addressing domestic violence for social development.

Since 2015, IAS and the Women’s Association have jointly launched the “Zero-violence Series Activities”, promoting domestic violence prevention across the SAR. This year’s series of activities is being held from September to November, having kicked off with an event launch ceremony featuring the Friendly Buddies promotion ambassador, “Superman Awo” theme song dance challenge, Community Buddies Participation Program and more.

The event also received support and cooperation from social service units across the six districts of Macau, using various information platforms to spread the message of domestic violence prevention to the public. The activities help reduce gender stereotypes and gender discrimination against women and men, promoting the establishment of an equal social and cultural environment.
