The 10th Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) was held at the Galaxy International Convention Center in Macau from 20 to 23 September. Over 1,500 leading figures from the global tourism industry and related sectors were invited.
Themed as “Destination 2030: Unlocking the Power of Tourism for Business and Development,” GTEF 2023 covered new trends within the context of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. GTEF 2023 was graced by the presence of Italy as the Partner Country and Shanghai as the Featured Chinese City, unleashing the potential of mutual cooperation between China and other countries as travel markets. In addition to discussions and keynote speeches, the program also featured special interviews, case studies and casual fireside dialogues.
Highlights on the agenda included “Unlocking the Potential of the Greater Bay Area with Special Focus on Macao-Hengqin Integration”, “Redefining City Tourism for the Next Decade” and “Tourism in the Next Decade: China and the World”.
