The GEG Youth Achievement Program (YAP) invited its members to a city walk to the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards in Coloane on the last weekend of May. Under the guidance of a professional docent, the members gained a deeper understanding of the history of Macau’s shipbuilding and fishing industries, learning through stories about the SAR.

After visiting the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards, the participants strolled to the southern coast’s scenic spot to enjoy the beautiful scenery, further appreciating the beauty of Macau.

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) is working with the Macau government to revitalize the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards area by continuously incorporating rich elements of leisure, entertainment and family-friendly facilities to the historic site of Macau’s shipbuilding industry.

In addition, GEG regularly organizes various events and sets up photo spots at the shipyards. These activities include previously arranging for Chinese gold medalists to visit the location, setting up themed installations and game booths during major sports events and festive occasions, and hosting street performances and music shows, showcasing Macau’s appeal as a new cultural and tourist destination.

The program, co-organized by GEG and the Macau Management Association, was officially launched in 2011 and has seen 13 editions to date. The program has provided a wide range of activities and training opportunities to nearly 3,500 participants aged between 18 and 29.
