All partners play a vital role in supporting New Macau’s mission to raise awareness of economic diversification initiatives and foster collaboration within the Macau community. Through the strategic partnerships and the development of its personalized distribution network, New Macau is gradually but consistently building deep connections in the Macau community, slowly and thoughtfully getting to know community associations and organizations one at a time.

“We are thrilled to renew our partnerships with these esteemed organizations, who share our commitment to advancing economic diversification and social responsibility in Macau,” said Ivone de Jesus, Project Director of New Macau. “Together, we look forward to furthering our collective impact and contributing to the sustainable development of our community.”

New Macau is at the forefront of raising awareness of economic diversification and CSR issues in Macau and closing the communications gap on such issues. As well as its website and its free weekly email newsletter which is issued each Wednesday at 12 noon (free signup here), every quarter New Macau produces a high-quality encyclopedic-style slipcase-bound hardcover print volume of over 250 pages, documenting a range of CSR and economic diversification initiatives for the relevant three-month period.

The quarterly print volumes are distributed to a target audience of 1,000 of the most influential and senior leaders in Macau, from a wide range of sectors including government, non-government organizations, industry, academia, the media and more. Distribution is through the New Macau “personalized distribution network” which involves person-to-person hand delivery.

Each strategic partner provides access to its events to New Macau where appropriate, liaises with New Macau regarding upcoming events and initiatives, and assists New Macau in enhanced promotion and distribution of the New Macau website, email newsletter and quarterly print volume.

New Macau is keen to explore new strategic partnership agreements with appropriate not-for-profit organizations in Macau contributing to the SAR’s economic diversification.

New Macau was formerly known as Macau CSR before rebranding as of 1 January 2024.

We describe New Macau as “The definitive record of CSR and economic diversification initiatives in Macau”.

Launched on 1 January 2023, the concept was the culmination of nearly two years of research and development work undertaken by Macau media company O MEDIA, the constituent companies of which have been publishing media in Macau since 2005.

In recent years, both the Macau and Central governments have expressed their strong desire to see Macau diversify its economy into a variety of sectors and have called upon major companies to support the healthy and sustainable development of Macau through a range of initiatives in a variety of categories. These include support for SMEs, whole person development for Macau citizens, philanthropy, environmental and sustainability initiatives, responsible gaming, city of sports, city of gastronomy, development of international tourism and more.

The New Macau brand is comprised of three main channels: the new-mac.com website, a weekly email newsletter which issues at 12 noon Macau time each Wednesday, and a hard-cover encyclopedia-style reference book, titled New Macau, published in the month after the end of each quarter. All channels showcase economic diversification initiatives undertaken by companies and other organizations in Macau, and all content is published in Chinese and English.

New Macau is a “one-stop shop” for busy members of Macau society, particularly government officials, to understand the economic diversification initiatives being executed in Macau, and seeks to engage government departments, NGOs such as Macau associations, as well as Macau industry and the community at large. New Macau signs collaboration agreements with organizations to help drive its mission of reporting on and raising awareness of  economic diversification initiatives in Macau.
