MGM hosts 13th annual summer program “The MGM Experience”

  • MGM organized “The MGM Experience” for 13th consecutive year.
  • Through this program MGM aims to provide local youth with a productive and enriching summer via hands-on work experience at an integrated resort.

First held in 2011, MGM hosted the 13th edition of its annual summer program “The MGM Experience” in late July. This year’s event saw a record participation of 200 students aged 13 to 17 from 27 different secondary schools in Macau.

“The MGM Experience” is a two-day program led by experienced Golden Lion team members, allowing participants to learn and experience various departments, including food and beverage, front desk, bell service, wardrobe and linen, floral, facilities management, resort technology, warehouse and human resources.

MGM hosted a sharing session and certificate presentation ceremony for this year’s participants. Four student representatives shared their experiences and insights from the program. Additionally, MGM invited Alvina Cheong, a winner of the “Macau Outstanding Teenagers Award”, to encourage participants at the event by recounting her journey of overcoming challenges and contributing to society.

MGM also arranged for participants to join the MGM Volunteer Team in several community service activities. They visited the Ngai Chun Service Complex of the Macau Special Olympics and the Fuhong Society of Macau, where they engaged in inclusive workshops. The students also visited elderly centers run by Caritas Macau, the Macao Federation of Trade Unions, the General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau, and the Women’s General Association of Macau, offering assistance and care to the elderly.

MGM said it aims to provide local youth with a productive and enriching summer by way of hands-on work experience at an integrated resort. The program also enables them to broaden their horizons, explore various career paths and engage in volunteer activities with MGM’s Golden Lion team members, instilling in participants from an early age the value of giving back to the community.
