In late July, Melco Resorts & Entertainment held a minibar product roadshow at Studio City’s Heart-of-House employee area, providing 18 local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with the opportunity for direct sales and marketing opportunities.

To foster long-term collaboration, management from Melco’s Housekeeping and Supply Chain departments were present to support and sample minibar products suitable for procurement. This event facilitated direct dialogue and exchanges between Melco and local SMEs, enhancing understanding of each other’s products, services, business ethics and standards.

“SMEs and micro enterprises form the backbone of local economies, driving economic activity and job creation along the value chain,” said Augusta Vargas-Prada, Vice President of Supply Chain for Melco. “A signature event for our colleagues and local SMEs is our regular Heart-of-House Roadshows, where we open our doors and provide rent-free retail space to provide an effective platform for SMEs to share their projects and services with our teams, thereby increasing their revenue and market exposure, as well as prospects for longer-term collaborations.

“We are grateful to the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) for its steadfast support of the event. We remain committed to our close collaboration to drive the development and growth of local SMEs.”

The event was attended by representatives from IPIM, including Leong Wa Fong, Director of IPIM; Ray Chao, Senior Manager of the Investment Promotion and Commerce Development Affairs Department; and Sanna Leong, Manager of the Commerce and Business Development Division. They were welcomed to the event by Melco representatives Sylvia Chua, Director, Global Supply Chain, and Kenny Wong, Director, Housekeeping.
