• 22 Macau SME suppliers were invited by MGM to take a one-day business tour to Hengqin.
• The tour was organized under the “MGM SME Program 2024: Seizing Business Opportunities in Cooperation Zone”.

At the end of August, MGM invited 22 Macau SME suppliers on a one-day tour of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. The group of 40 participants explored the zone’s development plans, business environment and policies, capitalizing on Macau-Hengqin integration opportunities.

The delegation visited the newly established Enterprise and Talent Service Center of the Economic Development Bureau of Hengqin to learn about business setup and recruitment support, followed by a visit to the Macao Chamber of Commerce’s Guangdong Office for insight into services for Macau companies in Guangdong.

In the afternoon, the group visited several companies, including MGM’s partner Chazence, a Macau-based environmental tech SME and youth entrepreneurship business, and Authenmole (Zhuhai Hengqin) Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Industry Development Co., Ltd., where they toured its smart factory and production processes. They also visited Hengqin DCH Logistics Centre to learn about its use of Hengqin’s geographical advantages and developments in logistics, import-export and warehousing.

Hubert Wang, President and Executive Director of MGM China, said, “In line with the philosophy of growing bigger and better together, MGM has carefully selected SME partners with strong potential to participate in this tour. Over half of them are food manufacturers from Macau, many of whom have obtained the ‘M Mark’ certification.

“The cooperation zone is accelerating its construction, and under the Hengqin-Macau joint development model, we aim to help these SMEs expand their business through the ‘Made in Hengqin, Supervised by Macau, Designed in Macau’ policy, enabling Macau-branded industries to grow and flourish in the zone and driving high-quality development in the area.”

The tour was one of the activities under the “MGM SME Program 2024: Seizing Business Opportunities in Cooperation Zone”, co-organized by MGM and the Guangdong Office of the Macao Chamber of Commerce.
