Rui Cunha Foundation co-hosts exhibition with Macao Women Calligraphers, Painters and Sculptors Association

  • The exhibition featured 61 art pieces from 40 association members.

The Rui Cunha Foundation, in collaboration with the Macao Women Calligraphers, Painters and Sculptors Association, co-hosted the “Characters of Elegance and Beauty – Celebration Exhibition of MWCPSA Members’s Artwork” exhibition. The nine-day exhibition took place at the Rui Cunha Foundation Gallery in September, featuring 61 art pieces that included calligraphy, seal carving and traditional ink paintings of Buddha figures, landscapes and portraits.

With the theme of celebrating of the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR, the exhibition showcased works from 40 association members.

The President of the Macao Women Calligraphers, Painters and Sculptors Association, Hung San San, noted that the association has held 19 exhibitions in its nearly six years of establishment and expressed her joy at seeing the continuous growth and improvement in Macau’s art scene.

“This event is themed around celebrating National Day and Macau’s return anniversary,” Hung said. “I’d like to once again thank everyone for their continued support of our association, and express our gratitude to the Rui Cunha Foundation for providing the venue and sponsorship.”
