From August to October, MGM joined forces with the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) for the sixth consecutive year to host its annual occupational health and safety promotional campaign, “Safety in place, health to embrace!”. The campaign featured a variety of activities including roadshows, quiz contests, stretching exercises, fitness routines and seminars aimed at encouraging team members to prioritize workplace safety while maintaining a healthy and positive outlook.
The campaign attracted nearly 7,000 participants and was widely embraced by MGM staff. The closing ceremony featured competitions such as the “DSAL Work Happily, Work Safely Departmental Competition” and the “Safety Knowledge Championship”, along with a presentation of the awards, including one to the department with the highest completion rate for the “Hotel and Catering Occupational Safety Card” and the “NutriFit Healthy Eating Award in the Workplace”, recognizing departments for their commitment to safe practices.
MGM’s Executive Director of Safety, Winston Yeung, highlighted that MGM, as a responsible employer, consistently evaluates safety risks across work and back-of-house areas and implements measures to ensure a safer and healthier environment for its team. He expressed gratitude for the long-standing support and trust from DSAL and reaffirmed MGM’s continued dedication to promoting occupational safety and safeguarding the well-being of employees.
In addition to the main events, the campaign included an occupational safety knowledge online quiz with prizes, as well as initiatives supporting the government’s “Healthy Macao Blueprint”, such as promoting healthy eating in employee dining areas and installing health monitoring devices in back-of-house areas, enabling staff to check their health during breaks.
