Melco Resorts & Entertainment recently unveiled the “Eternal Lotus 25” art exhibition at the White Gallery of City of Dreams, marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the Macau SAR. Open 24 hours a day, the exhibition features immersive art installations celebrating the multifaceted beauty of the lotus flowers.
Centered around the lotus flower – a symbol of Macau – the exhibition is divided into three distinct zones. Each zone features innovative installations that showcase the lotus’ unique forms and evolution through time.
The “Awakening Buds” zone offers visitors a fresh perspective on lotus flowers. Using advanced lighting and projection technology, the installation immerses guests in an underwater world where they can navigate through 19 giant lotus’ buds, experiencing the intricate beauty of aquatic life.
The “Blooming Dialogue” zone presents three mechanical lotus flowers, intricately designed to replicate the mesmerising process of blooming. Each flower responds dynamically to visitor movements, creating an engaging and interactive experience.
The “Seeds of Eternity” zone features a kinetic sculpture shaped like a Möbius strip, symbolizing lotus seeds. This dynamic installation honors Macau’s enduring spirit, with the infinite loop symbolizing renewal and growth. It commemorates Macau’s remarkable 25-year journey since its handover and envisions a vibrant future ahead.
Melco explained that the exhibition was conceptualized and produced in partnership with local SMEs, demonstrating the company’s dedication to fostering local talent and offering a platform for creative expression.
The installations integrate cutting-edge technologies, blending innovative lighting and projection techniques with big data and dynamic detection systems. These features provide an exceptional interactive experience while reflecting Macau’s ongoing advancements in technical expertise.
