Wynn’s collaboration with the Macao SAR Government to revitalize the Rua da Felicidade Pedestrian Zone has recently earned a prestigious spot in the 20th Tsinghua Business Case Competition (2024). The project is now officially included in the China Business Case Center at Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management, marking the first time a Macau-based enterprise has been featured.

The Tsinghua Business Case Competition, hosted annually by one of China’s top universities, has become a key platform for presenting groundbreaking business cases over its 19-year history. This year, Wynn’s revitalization project has been selected as one of the case studies for 2024.

Titled “Wynn Macau: Attempting District Empowerment in the Pursuit of Diversification”, the case study explores how Wynn leveraged tourism and cultural resources to revitalize the Rua da Felicidade district. The project featured festive decorations, large-scale art installations, cultural and creative markets, cultural activities and night markets during holidays and special events.

In addition, Wynn collaborated closely with local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), using its resources and networks to enhance marketing and promotional efforts. These initiatives have significantly raised the profile of both the Rua da Felicidade community and local SMEs, attracting more visitors and driving regional economic growth by creating new business opportunities.

Wynn emphasized that the academic recognition of this project represents a major milestone in its ongoing efforts to revitalize the historic Rua da Felicidade district. Looking ahead, the company plans to continue fostering community economic development and will collaborate with more academic institutions and industry partners to explore and implement innovative projects that benefit both the community and the tourism sector.
