SJM Resorts, S.A. is partnering again with the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China (DBAMC) to host the 2025 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races this year. To promote the 2025 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races and preserve the intangible cultural heritage, SJM has provided 14 brand-new standard dragon boats to DBAMC, further supporting the development of this culturally significant sporting event. A launch ceremony of the 14 new boats was also held recently at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre.

“In Chinese culture, the dragon boat is more than a symbol of the dragon boat festival. It carries our hopes for blessings, our respect for tradition and a profound sense of community spirit,” said Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM.

“SJM has long supported dragon boat racing – not only by backing local competitions, but by actively encouraging our team members to train and take part and embedding this cultural sport into the fabric of our community.”

“We are delighted to provide 14 new dragon boats to the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China, with the hope of breathing new life into the races and passing on this cherished heritage to the next generation.”

The 2025 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races will take place on 24, 25 and 31 May, with SJM fielding eight teams in this year’s competition. The event this year will also bring together teams from a broader spectrum of countries and regions, fostering cultural exchange and international connections.

As a dedicated advocate of Macau’s sporting and cultural landscape, SJM remains steadfast in promoting the city’s development as a “City of Sports.” Through “Sports + Tourism” initiatives, SJM said it aims to attract international tourists while fostering community engagement and cultural exchange, contributing to Macau’s ongoing diversification.
