MICA played an active role in promoting Macau’s city image and facilitating exchanges within the new media industry.
The carnival’s launch ceremony was held on 14 June, with Ken Ao, Chairman of MICA, and Kalas Lei, Executive Director of MICA, attending as representatives. The event featured a star-studded lineup of key opinion leaders (KOLs), with the officials interacting and posing for photos with numerous KOLs, demonstrating the association’s close ties with the content creator community.
MICA also established a dedicated exhibition booth at the event market, showcasing its independently developed “Macau Specialty City Market Area” map and cultural and creative products from its IP “Hiking CityPanda”, attracting numerous residents and tourists to stop and experience the offerings.
The following day, MICA organized 35 local KOLs to participate in the “Enchanting Salon” sharing session and networking reception, fostering in-depth exchanges between Macau and mainland China’s new media industries.
The session focused on content creation trends and the expression of urban cultural memory. Hosts and speakers delivered a series of thematic presentations, inviting mainland industry experts and Douyin influencers to share insights. This high-caliber salon not only provided a platform for local creators to learn and exchange ideas but also showcased the vitality and potential of Macau’s KOL community.
MICA has long been dedicated to uniting local online content creators, platforms and related organizations. It promotes professional advancement and standardized development, utilizing new media to showcase Macau’s multicultural image, foster industry prosperity and enhance the city’s international profile.
