  • GEG invited local students to participate in a special media tour at the ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao 2025.
  • The initiative aimed to provide students with real-world exposure to media operations at a world-class sporting event.

Coinciding with the “ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao 2025 Presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group”, held at Galaxy Arena in April, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) welcomed a group of final-year communication students from the University of Macau for an exclusive “World Cup Second Classroom” media tour.

The initiative aimed to provide students with real-world exposure to media operations at a world-class sporting event.

The participating students were accompanied by their Associate Professor Agnes Lam, Zhou Dao, Head of Media (Asia) at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), along with Annie Loi, Assistant Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility of Public Relations of GEG, and Kam Leong, Assistant Vice President of Media Relations of Public Relations of GEG. The tour included access to key media zones, photography areas and a behind-the-scenes look at the light show and event production.

The experience continued with backstage visits to the mixed zone, media center and press conference room. Students had the opportunity to engage in insightful discussions with Wang Peng, Table Tennis TV Producer at China Media Group (CMG), and Allan Chong, reporter at Macao Daily News. A highlight of the day was a meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with Chinese table tennis athlete Zhu Sibing, adding a personal and memorable touch to the visit.

Student Adrie Zhu thanked GEG for the invaluable opportunity and described the tour as “an eye-opening extension of the classroom,” noting that it broadened their understanding of media production at international events and inspired future career ambitions.

As part of GEG’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, additional students from the University of Macau’s Lui Che Woo College and the University’s Department of Communication were invited during the tournament week to attend live matches and explore the event’s vibrant merchandise zone alongside the GEG Volunteer Team.
