- The new Yiu Tung Building at UTM is named after Galaxy Entertainment Group Chairman Francis Lui.

The new building of the Macao University of Tourism (UTM) in Taipa, Yiu Tung Building, had officially opened. This brand-new teaching building is named after Francis Lui, Chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group, Chair of UTM Development Foundation and Vice-Chair of UTM Council.

The naming ceremony was held on 23 July and witnessed by many distinguished guests, including O Lam, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government, Li Yongxian, Deputy Director of the Education and Youth Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Liang Qiaozhi, Deputy Director of the Department of Public Diplomacy and Information Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao SAR, Francis Lui Yiu Tung, Kong Chi Meng, Director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau, Chan Chak Mo, Chair of UTM Council, Cheung Kin Chung, Chair of the Executive Committee of UTM Development Foundation, and Fanny Vong Chuk Kwan, Rector of UTM.
In his speech at the naming ceremony, Lui expressed his sincere gratitude to the Macao SAR Government and UTM for their trust and kindness in naming the new teaching building after him and said he hopes the building will help further optimize the teaching resources of UTM and inject new momentum into the cultivation of outstanding tourism talent in Macau.
As the Chair of UTM Development Foundation and Vice-Chair of UTM Council, Lui has been committed to the long-term development of talent in Macau. As the first Honorary Patron of the foundation, he donated MOP 30 million to UTM which will be used to support its academic development, including the establishment of awards for teaching excellence, research excellence and outstanding theses, as well as the promotion of exchange and cooperation programs.
The new 14-story building spans approximately 16,000 square metres and features 58 theoretical classrooms, 54 academic offices, four educational kitchens plus mock front desk and housekeeping classrooms, providing diverse learning and practical training spaces for faculty and students.
