GalaxyArt, a long-term non-profit art space managed by the Galaxy Entertainment Group Foundation (GEGF), has curated nearly 25 guided tours conducted by GalaxyArt docents, inviting more than 750 students from local tertiary education institutions as well as secondary and primary schools to the “5 a.m.” Oil Painting Exhibition – a collaboration with local artist Yuen Wai-Ip, to help nurture the younger generation’s interest in arts and culture.
Available until 28 February 2023, the exhibition displays a collection of over 40 oil paintings created by Yuen between the 1990s and 2020s, capturing self-reflections of his own life experiences and society. The exhibition asks viewers to contemplate humanity and view things from different perspectives while encouraging them to reconnect with themselves in today’s fast-paced life. Visitors to the exhibition are challenged to stay grounded and focused and to think critically about things around them.
Recently, GalaxyArt has welcomed more than 60 students from the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM), who are undertaking “Introduction to Cultural and Heritage Management” and “Art Administration and Management” as part of their degree studies, to the oil painting exhibition. Two related seminars themed “The Difference between a Museum and a Gallery” and “Venue Management” were also organized, allowing students to acquire real-world knowledge and interact with professionals in the field of art administration and management.

GalaxyArt also invited many professors from the University of Saint Joseph to visit and share valuable insights and feedback regarding the educational guided tours. The arts space also hosted art enlightenment workshops entitled “The Clumsy Artist” for children to understand art appreciation, create art works with different tools and media, and cultivate creativity in daily lives.
