The “GEG Presents: 2nd Macau Volleyball Super Bowl”, title-sponsored by Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), was held at the Sports Complex of the University of Macau. As an annual commercial event of the local volleyball community, a total of eight teams, including both male and female participants, took part this year.

The top four men’s and women’s teams in Group A of the 2022 Open Volleyball League obtained qualification to participate. After two days of competition, team Hong Nam Club won the men’s division championship for the second time, while its women’s team also took top honors.

Being the first commercial event of the local volleyball sector, the “Macau Volleyball Super Bowl” is title sponsored and supported by GEG. This year marks the second consecutive year that GEG has supported this competition. The event strives to cultivate the younger generation’s interest in sports and to discover more outstanding athletes in a bid to contribute to the Macau sporting community.

The awards ceremony was held immediately after the championship game. Mr Chao Kuok Wai, Head of Sports Development Department of Sports Bureau of the Macau SAR Government; and Ms Lavin Chan, Vice President of Public Relations of GEG; among others, were invited to present the awards. Together with GEG, the winning teams will visit a number of primary and secondary schools, aiming to promote the sport to the community and conduct volleyball exchanges.

Over the years, GEG has been proactively supporting the Macau SAR Government’s policies in promoting local sports development through title-sponsoring and supporting various major sport events in Macau, such as the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League Macao and FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix, as well as the WTT Macao event and the Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon, among others.
