The “International Volunteer Day 2023: Outstanding Volunteer Awards Ceremony” was recently held. Organized by the Association of Volunteer Social Service Macao (AVSM) and sponsored by the Macau Education and Youth Development Bureau, the event honored outstanding volunteers from all sectors of society. The Volunteer Team of Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) was awarded “Outstanding Corporate Volunteer in Macau”, while three members of the GEG Volunteer Team won a “2023 Macau Top Ten Outstanding Volunteer” award.
According to GEG, the volunteer team was established in 2011 to encourage team members to actively participate in community and charitable activities, promoting a sense of caring and mutual support. GEG stated that the honors are testaments to the unwavering efforts and dedication of GEG and its team members, who have earned recognition across various sectors, in serving the community.
Wong Lai Tim, one of the “2023 Macau Top Ten Outstanding Volunteer” award recipients, stated that the company has always been dedicated to charitable causes, inspiring her and her colleagues to join the GEG Volunteer Team. Her years of volunteer work have not only deepened her understanding of the needs of disadvantaged communities, but also brought her joy in helping others, as well as forming friendships with many colleagues.
Sandy Sou, another award winner, expressed her pride in being a part of the GEG Volunteer Team. With the company’s support, she participated in various volunteer activities and services, such as promoting responsible gambling and visiting families from vulnerable communities and accompanying them on half-day tours sponsored by GEG. This award affirmed her commitment to volunteer work and strengthened her resolve to continue serving society.
The awardee Cindy Ng shared that her participation in volunteer work through the GEG Volunteer Team enriched her life and boosted her self-worth. Serving others also deepened her understanding of society and disadvantaged groups. She hopes this award will inspire more family members and friends to join the ranks of volunteers.
The GEG Volunteer Team also previously received the “Care Service Award” at the “Passing Love to the City – Volunteer Award Ceremony” organized by the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao (AJVM).
