  • Sands China brings back responsible gaming carnival for parents and children.
  • The carnival taught smart financial management through fun and interactive activities.

In August, Sands China held its “Responsible Gaming Parent-Child Happy Carnival” for the second consecutive year. The event attracted over 150 participants, including Sands China team members, local NGO members and their children.

Organized by Sands China in collaboration with five local organizations – Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau, Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home, Youth Volunteers Association of Macao, and Macao Bosco Youth Service Network, the carnival’s theme was “Passing Down the Wisdom About Financial Management to the Next Generation”. The event featured 10 educational and interactive activities aimed at enhancing family communication, developing smart financial management concepts and raising awareness about responsible gaming.

“At Sands China, we understand that parents have a profound influence on their children’s financial habits, and we are therefore pleased to bring back this responsible gaming carnival for the second year. The carnival features a variety of creative and fun parent-child games, aiming to enhance financial literacy through interaction,” said Dr Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China.

“We hope that while enjoying family time, parents can help children understand the importance of financial management, cultivate positive spending attitudes, savings habits and the spirit of helping others. Our thanks go to all who participated, and to the Macau SAR government in leading the way with its responsible gaming promotions.”

Sands China emphasized its commitment to the physical and mental well-being of its guests and team members and its active role in promoting responsible gaming within the local community. In 2004, Sands China became the first gaming operator in Macau to introduce a self-exclusion programme and, in 2007, pioneered responsible gaming training for all new employees, contributing to the sustainable development of the Macau community and fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
