Hosted by Sands China Performing Arts Programme, the “Classics Reimagined: Golden Hour Harmonies” was recently held at Macao Cultural Centre Plaza. The two-day event featured three outdoor lawn concerts and a two-hour music masterclass.

The concerts, free and open to the public, attracted over 2,600 attendees. Sands China invited the renowned Vienna-based family quartet Janoska Ensemble, internationally acclaimed pianist Niu Niu, and world harmonica champion Gordon Lee to enchant the audience with an unforgettable musical experience.

In addition to their performances, the Janoska Ensemble conducted a masterclass, providing interactive sessions and professional guidance to 17 young music enthusiasts aged 5 to 27 from Macau and Hong Kong. Notably, this marked Macau’s first-ever outdoor masterclass open for public viewing, which drew a significant crowd of music lovers.

The venue also hosted refreshment booths operated by local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), offering locally made healthy drinks, pastries and craft beer, providing attendees with a taste of authentic “Made in Macao” delicacies.

Dr Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd, remarked that the event served as a heartfelt tribute to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of Macau’s return to China.

He added that this event, following last year’s Winter Showcase at the same location, once again brought residents and visitors together to enjoy the beauty of music in a serene outdoor setting.

Dr Wong further noted that the event aligned with the key objectives of Sands China’s Community Revitalization Programme and Performing Arts Programme, showcasing Macau’s diverse appeal as a “City of Performing Arts” while injecting new vitality into the local cultural and tourism industries.
