The program comprises the “Immersive Study Program” and thematic seminars on cuisine and folk customs shaped by Macau’s fusion of Chinese and Western cultures. Through classroom learning and field visits, the initiative enhanced GEG frontline team members’ understanding of Macau’s community culture and tourism resources.

Recently, GEG held a graduation ceremony in the Ballroom of Banyan Tree Macau at Galaxy Macau, presenting certificates to 50 team members who completed the “Immersive Study Program”.

About 400 of GEG’s frontline team members from F&B, Hotel, Customer Services and related departments joined The “Experience Macao with GEG” program

Held from October to November, the “Immersive Study Program” offered a four-day training session for frontline team members from GEG’s F&B, Hotel Services and Integrated Resort Operations departments. The curriculum covered the “Macao New Eight Scenic Spots”, Macau’s World Heritage sites and the origins of Macanese cuisine. Led by UTM’s professional instructors, participants visited the “Historic Centre of Macao” and the old town of Taipa to gain a deeper appreciation of local community culture and tourism assets.

Participants also toured GEG’s revitalization project at the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards to learn about Macau’s shipbuilding and fishing history, as well as how the revitalized area blends technology, family-friendly facilities, leisure offerings and cultural elements. At the graduation ceremony, Phoebe Lei, lecturer of the Institute of Executive and Professional Development of UTM, introduced Macau’s folk customs, while in June, Amy Lo, lecturer from the Institute of Executive and Professional Development of UTM, delivered a seminar on Macau’s culinary culture and Portuguese gastronomic traditions. The two seminars attracted nearly 400 frontline team members from relevant departments.
