Sands China has once again been recognized for its commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, securing a spot in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices World (DJSI World) for the second straight year, and marking its third consecutive inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices Asia Pacific (DJSI Asia Pacific).

Sands China and its parent company, Las Vegas Sands (LVS), were recognized as two of only seven companies worldwide in the “Consumer Services” category of the 2023 DJSI World, and further distinguished themselves as the only two integrated resort companies on this global list. Furthermore, Sands China has achieved the unique status of being one of only three Asia Pacific companies to be included in the “Consumer Services” category of the index, and is notably the only integrated resort company represented in the DJSI Asia Pacific index.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) is one of the most highly recognised indices for corporate sustainability and has been described as the gold standard for measuring and advancing global ESG efforts.

Sands China stated that their continued inclusion in the index “demonstrates the company’s ability to adapt to the major changes in methodology and public disclosure expectations made in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment, reflecting its focus on transparency as defined by major ESG authorities and a dedication to continuously expanding its impact”.

Sands China implements its sustainable business practices through the People, Planet, and Communities corporate social responsibility framework established by LVS. The approach encompasses various initiatives, such as the Sands ECO360 global sustainability strategy, the Sands Cares program for corporate philanthropy and community involvement, and the Sands China Academy, which focuses on professional development for its team members.
