Sands China has announced that it will distribute a discretionary bonus to all eligible full-time employees by the end of January. Additionally, starting 1 March 2024, the company will implement salary increases expected to benefit 99% of its 26,000-strong workforce.
According to Sands China’s announcement, eligible non-managerial employees who have completed at least one year of service will receive a bonus equivalent to one month’s salary. For management staff, the discretionary bonus will be calculated based on the company’s performance and the employee’s performance rating under the company’s Management Incentive Plan.
Full-time employees who joined before 1 October 2023, but have not completed a full year of service by the date of the bonus distribution will receive prorated bonuses.
The company’s salary increase see eligible full-time employees earning a monthly pre-tax salary of up to MOP 13,000 receiving an increase of MOP 600, equivalent to a pay raise of around 5%. Those earning over MOP 13,000 will receive a 2.5% salary increase.
Speaking to company team members, Sands China President Dr Wilfred Wong said, “Our team members’ resilience and collective spirit have not only guided us through the trials of recent years, but also propelled us into a period of rejuvenation. As tourism in Macau resumed after the pandemic, it was their concerted effort that smoothly transitioned our business back to full capacity, breathing life into our spaces once again.
“In 2023, we delivered a grand celebration at The Londoner Macao, hosted a dynamic array of large-scale exhibitions and performances, expanded the Sands China Academy, and strengthened community ties through volunteer service – all milestones that you turned into reality through your unwavering dedication.
“In light of our achievements, fuelled by your dedication, we are excited to express our gratitude through the announcement of the 2023 discretionary bonus award and 2024 salary increase.”
