Sands China again donated MOP300,000 to Macau Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop

For the 12th consecutive year, Sands China has shown its support for the Macau Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop by making a donation of MOP300,000 at the beginning of February to be used for operating expenses. The cheque was presented by Dr Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China, and received by Mr António José de Freitas, President of Macau Holy House of Mercy’s General Assembly.

Additionally, around 30 Sands Cares Ambassadors volunteered at the Welfare Shop to distribute Chinese New Year food hampers to over 370 disadvantaged families on the same day. The shop provides food and essentials to several thousand families facing financial difficulties on a monthly basis.

This year’s food hamper included staple items like rice, noodles, biscuits, canned food, cooking oil, toothpaste, shower gel and more. In celebration of Spring Festival, Sands China also provided each family with a Chinese New Year gift bag purchased from the Fuhong Society of Macau.
