Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has been actively supporting the modernization and corporatization of local dining brands in Macau since 2015. The efforts include inviting local SMEs in the retail and F&B sectors to open outlets in the Broadway Food Street at Broadway Macau. Based on the “Large Businesses Leading Small Businesses” business model, and being the first integrated resort operator to launch an SME partnering program, GEG’s Broadway Food Street is a hallmark example of how large-scale integrated resorts cooperate with local SMEs.
Mr Tou, who is a third-generation inheritor of Cheng Chau Lam Kei which has a history dating back more than 50 years, observed that the Broadway Food Street serves as a focal point for Macau’s youth community and is a rare outdoor food street that perfectly complements the street food culture passed down from previous generations. He expressed his gratitude for the support provided by GEG during the process of setting up the shop, acknowledging that it has enabled him to use innovative thinking to continuously improve and incorporate new concepts and elements based on classic flavors, and to make progress in preserving and revitalizing his family’s brand.
The founders of Cafe Hanoi, Mr Kou and Mr Fong, regard GEG’s collaboration invitation as a validation of their restaurant brand’s strength and a boost of confidence for young entrepreneurs like themselves.
“Through this opportunity, we’ve learned the need to maintain high-quality products and service standards while adjusting our operational strategies to meet the diverse needs of the large influx of visitors to the integrated resort,” they said.
The duo also expressed gratitude for the comprehensive support provided by GEG’s professional team, from license application to interior design and brand promotion, stating it served as a solid foundation for their restaurant’s successful opening. They concluded, “We have transformed into a more scalable and corporatized restaurant through our collaboration with GEG.”
Mr Cheong, representative of Apgujeong by Kim’s Korean Cuisine, highlighted the advantages of being part of a large-scale integrated resort. He noted that the influx of customers, drawn by entertainment events and concerts at the Galaxy Arena and Broadway Theatre, has increased brand exposure and expanded business opportunities.
“This also fully demonstrates the tangible win-win effects of concerts and events on the local F&B industry, particularly for SMEs,” he noted.
