Sponsored by Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and organized by the National Conditions Education (Macau) Association, the “GEG Macau Cup – 16th Youth National Education Competition” held its grand finals and award ceremony in early June. The event attracted nearly 15,000 students from 25 secondary schools and seven colleges and universities across Macau, marking a record high in participation.

The competition has been listed as one of the projects of the 2024 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Charity Annual Conference, organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

Marking the year of “double celebrations”, the 16th version centered around the theme “Enhancing Ecological Civilization • Improving New Quality Production”, which is of significant practical importance for enhancing the understanding by Macau’s youth of national conditions and comprehension of national strategies.

After intense competition, Hou Kong Middle School (Group A), Pooi To Middle School (Group B) and the University of Macau won the championship. Keang Peng School (Group A), Premier School Affiliated To Hou Kong Middle School (Group B) and the Macao Polytechnic University took second place while Tong Sin Tong Middle School (Group A), Fong Chong School of Taipa (Group B) and the Macao University of Tourism secured third place.

In his speech GEG Director Philip Cheng said GEG upholds the belief of “education engenders a strong country”.

Through sponsoring the competition for 16 consecutive years, GEG aims to provide Macau students with a comprehensive and rich platform for national education, helping them to deeply understand their home country and broaden their horizons, thereby contributing to nurturing more patriotic young leaders.
