Galaxy Entertainment Macau Cultural City Carnival to kick off on 24 May

  • The “Galaxy Entertainment Macau City Culture Carnival” gets underway on 24 May.
  • The event is divided into three parts: cultural market, community exploration and orienteering race.

The “Galaxy Entertainment Macau City Culture Carnival”, title-sponsored by Galaxy Entertainment Group, organized by the Macau International Events Promotion Association and supported by the Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau and Sports Bureau, will take place from 24 to 25 May at the Galaxy Entertainment Group Revitalization Project — Lai Chi Vun Shipyards in Macau. The event aims to inject new vitality into the old district and attract residents and tourists to explore the historical and cultural heritage of the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards.

The event is divided into three parts: a cultural market, community exploration and an orienteering race. Within the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards, local SMEs will set up cultural market stalls offering creative products, games and live performances. The community exploration segment invites participants to visit landmarks such as the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards and the old streets of Coloane, collecting stamps to redeem souvenirs.

The orienteering race is the “World Orienteering PWT International Invitational Competition and Guangdong Historical Road Orienteering Competition (Macau, China)”, which is divided into professional, adult and children’s groups. It is expected to attract over 1,000 participants. “The World Orienteering PWT International Invitational Competition” welcomes world-class orienteering athletes, including those ranked in the global top 5, navigating through the historical streets and areas of Lai Chi Vun shipyards. And for the “Guangdong Historical Road Orienteering Competition”, there will be two experience groups for the general public, showcasing Guangdong’s ports image to the world. With the support of Galaxy Entertainment Group, an extended

Minigame Orienteering Maze will also be set up at the East Square of the Galaxy Macau™ Integrated Resort, allowing visitors to enjoy the fun of orienteering.

Chong Lo, President of the Macau International Grand Events Promotion Association, said, “We sincerely thank Galaxy Entertainment Group for their title sponsorship of this event and their strong support in promoting Macau’s sports events and cultural tourism development. We hope that through this event we can enrich the unique elements of the commercial district, engage local SMEs, attract visitors to the area, stimulate consumption and jointly promote the revitalization of the community economy.”
