To promote the development of Macau’s culinary culture, Wynn has once again demonstrated its innovation and craftsmanship with the launch of Gourmet Pavilion, a new Asian culinary landmark, which began trial operations on 29 April.

“Fat Boy Dumplings” with its signature dumplings

This culinary haven, blending Asian essence with European elegance, was designed by the internationally renowned David Collins Studio. It features 18 top Asian culinary brands, offering a sophisticated space design and a diverse array of culinary options, creating an unparalleled culinary and visual feast for diners.

A unique culinary experience featuring the best of Asian cuisine
Gourmet Pavilion is Wynn’s brand new Asian culinary destination, offering diners a one-stop experience. Here, six independent restaurants come together, including “Fat Boy Dumplings” with its signature dumplings, “Leela” with its innovative Indian cuisine, “Sushi Masa” with its popular Omakase sushi, “Tanyu Grilled Fish” with its Chinese-style grilled fish, “Zhu Guang Yu Hot Pot” with its authentic Chongqing hot pot and “Xita Lao Tai Tai Clay Oven Barbecue” with its traditional Chinese mud-fired grilled meat.

In addition, Gourmet Pavilion brings together 12 other well-known Asian dining brands, including the century-old Japanese restaurant “Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa”, Taiwan’s hard-to-book “Wumamii Beef Noodles”, Taiwan’s world-famous “Ximen Jin Fong・Braised Pork Rice”, Singapore’s celebrity hotspot “328 Katong Laksa”, Singapore’s national favorite “Tuan Yuan・Singapore-style Pork Ribs Soup”, the Michelin-recommended “Yong Zuo・Fish Congee”, as well as local Macau favorites such as “Buns & Bubbles・Bakery” and “Little 8・Cantonese Barbecue”, which pioneered high-end open-fire roast meat.

Whether it’s star-rated cuisine or smoky street snacks, Gourmet Pavilion can satisfy the taste buds of different diners and set off an Asian food storm.

Bringing a different dining experience to Macau
Joining Wynn Gourmet Pavilion, Zhu Guang Yu Hot Pot Restaurant is famous for its authentic Chongqing hot pot. In an interview, its owner Alex Lee said that being able to cooperate with Wynn and bring authentic Chongqing hot pot to Macau is an exciting new experience for him.

“To adapt to the Macau market, they have integrated various elements from Chinese cuisine, seamlessly blending them into Chongqing hot pot to create a completely new dining experience for diners,” Lee said, adding that this innovation is not merely about adjusting the dishes but also rethinking the selection of ingredients and cooking methods.

The founder of Sushi Masa also expressed his anticipation for opening the first Macau branch at Wynn. His brand is renowned in Hong Kong for its high-quality Omakase offerings and entering the Macau market marks an important milestone for him.

The concept of Omakase lies in giving chefs creative freedom, allowing each dish to showcase the best flavors of the ingredients. The founder noted that he hopes this platform will allow customers to experience the chefs’ creative processes and enjoy a unique dining atmosphere.

The name “Gourmet Pavilion” has a profound meaning
Wynn explained that the name “Gourmet Pavilion” is derived from the dual meanings of “rich in flavor” and “the joy of eating” in its Chinese name Fu Le Ting, symbolizing that the cuisine not only entices with its aroma but also brings satisfaction and joy to guests with its rich and diverse selection.

The design concept of Gourmet Pavilion aims to convey the happiness of sharing food to every diner, making every bite an unforgettable memory.

Gourmet Pavilion is unique in that it perfectly combines cuisine and art, offering not only a feast for the taste buds but also a feast for the eyes and the soul. Whether you are spending time with family and friends or enjoying a meal on your own, Gourmet Pavilion offers an unforgettable experience and has become a new landmark of Macau’s culinary culture.

Designed by David Collins Studio, Gourmet Pavilion was not only intended to be a food court, but also a work of art. Gourmet Pavilion combines classic European architecture with modern luxury elements. The exterior is mainly gold in color and upon entering you will see a magnificent golden archway, complemented by exquisite floor tiles and a layout inspired by famous European markets, making every diner feel as if they are immersed in European history and culture.

Promoting Macau as Asia’s City of Gastronomy
Wynn has successfully transformed Gourmet Pavilion into a space that blends cuisine, art and culture by introducing high-quality dining brands and international design teams.

This is not only a tribute to Asian cuisine but also demonstrates Wynn’s support for the development of Macau’s gastronomy, further consolidating Macau’s position as Asia’s culinary capital. The opening of Gourmet Pavilion marks an important step forward for Wynn in promoting Macau’s culinary culture, while also injecting new vitality into the local catering labor market.

Prior to the soft opening, Wynn collaborated with the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) earlier to host a specialized job matching event for the catering industry, offering job vacancies across various roles, including Head of Housekeeping, Senior Chefs (Chinese, Japanese/Taiwanese, Southeast Asian cuisine), Concierges, Catering Service Staff, Sommeliers and Housekeeping Attendants. This initiative aimed to recruit Macau residents passionate about the catering industry and provide them with more employment opportunities.

In addition, Wynn has been promoting the development of Macau as a city of gastronomy for many years, striving to enhance Macau’s international image.

Wynn has organized the “Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards” for two consecutive years, not only fostering the exchange of wine culture but also deepening diversified development models such as “tourism + cuisine” and “tourism + exhibitions”, exploring endless possibilities and driving Macau’s tourism appeal centered on culinary culture.

The opening of Gourmet Pavilion and Wynn’s various initiatives demonstrate the importance of Macau’s food culture and inject vitality into the local dining scene. In the future, Wynn said it will continue to promote Macau as Asia’s city of gastronomy and bring unforgettable dining experiences to more people.
