As the first integrated tourism and leisure enterprise in Macau to implement the “Large Businesses Leading Small Businesses” business model, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) recently co-organized the “GEG SME X IPIM Enterprises Expansion Series: Business Matching Session for Products and Food from Macau Enterprises”.
The event aims to facilitate in-depth exchanges between the participating enterprises and GEG’s procurement team and to explore the opportunities for future cooperation.
The matching session was held on 6 May at JW Marriott Hotel Macau at Galaxy Macau™ and attracted around 140 local enterprises and more than 200 representatives. Guests included the President of IPIM, Vincent U, Director of GEG, Philip Cheng as well as other guests from IPIM and GEG’s senior management.

The event was organized through two sessions, namely “Product Showcase” and “Business Matching Session”, allowing the representatives of participating enterprises to have in-depth exchanges and interactions with GEG’s sourcing team. Participating companies included those offering products and services, including hotel operating supplies, food and beverages, technology solutions, and facility equipment. Many of them fell under the banners of “Made in Macau” products, “Macau Brands” enterprises, “Products agented by Macau Enterprises”, and products from Portuguese and Spanish-speaking countries.
Philip Cheng said, “It is a great honor for GEG to collaborate with IPIM in jointly providing this platform for local SMEs to discover new business opportunities. We firmly believe that SMEs are crucial to the development of Macau’s economic development, and we look forward to continuing to leverage our resources to create more development opportunities, driving forward Macau’s economic diversification and high-quality growth.”
GEG regards local SMEs as a key partner, with nearly 90% of the company’s purchases coming from local companies in 2024. GEG also actively responds to the SAR Government’s efforts to promote the digital transformation of SMEs by organizing technical training and business matching exchanges on a regular basis, as well as sponsoring SME digital support services to assist local SMEs in their digital upgrading.
